SPECIFICATION TEXT ESSMANN® control for mechanical smoke extraction

Controls for mechanical aeration and ventilation or mechanical smoke extraction (MSE) are designed in line with customer requirements and requests, together with specialist field consultants.

A control could comprise the following:

ESSMANN® de-smoking roof ventilator control centre for controlling a flue gas ventilator. Modular design incl. cable monitoring of 24 V cables, SHE central control units and automatic detectors in the surface-mounted sheet steel housing, RAL 7035, with lock. Consists of: 1 x ventilator control with direct starting 400 V with thermal relay that is active in manual operation and disabled in SHE operation (control circuit). 3 x control lamps integrated in the front door and wired (Ready/Malfunction/Activation). 1 x key-operated switch integrated in the front door and wired. A malfunction on the button line activates the ventilator. Pre-wired to terminals. Entry from above.

or

ESSMANN® control unit in the form of a smoke detector switching device with relay card. The smoke detector switching device performs the following in the event of a fire:

- Bridges motor protecting switch
- Switches two-stage ventilators to high speed
- Disconnects the integrated frequency converter from the mains and connects the motor to the mains directly.

The switching device responds to fire detection sensors such as automatic smoke detectors. It can also be activated manually via a fire alarm button or operated using the function buttons on the front door.
