ESSMANN fresh air equipment

ESSMANN fresh air equipment is an indispensable component of a smoke and heat extraction system, as it ensures that the system can work in an aerodynamically effective manner. It takes the form of fresh air openings in the outer walls of buildings.

ESSMANN fresh air flaps
consist of an installation frame that is mounted in an opening provided by the customer. The lower edge of the flap is hinged to the installation frame. ESSMANN fresh air flaps are opened manually from a safe position or automatically when the installed natural smoke and heat extraction system is activated.

ESSMANN fresh air flaps are available in three bare shell dimensions up to a max. width of 1.96 m and a max. height of 2.1 m, with a non-profiled surface on the outer wall. The customer can then add the same type of profiles already used on the building to integrate the flaps into the architectural design of the exterior shell in a simple way. The opening angle of the fresh air flap is restricted at the factory. If the lower pivotal point of the fresh air equipment is less than 2.5 m above the floor, a safety area of 2 m x 2 m must be adhered to and marked around the installed flap.

ESSMANN lamella i and ih
The ESSMANN lamella i and ih can also be used as fresh air supply for smoke/heat extraction in SHE systems.

ESSMANN fresh air finned ventilators
are ideally suited for use as make-up air openings, as their low installation depth means they are easy to integrate into the facade and do not interfere with the overall look of the building. A powder coating can be provided on request to make the colour of the finned ventilator better match that of the facade.

This equipment can also be used as a fresh air opening for daily ventilation. Finned ventilators basically consist of a 2 mm thick corrosion-resistant aluminium structure that forms a frame for incorporating the various fin designs. Strip brushes on the longitudinal sides reduce leakage losses. The fins are connected to cast aluminium side panels free of strain. Side bearings ensure that the fins can move properly. The side panels have double bearings with aluminium screw bolts in nylon bushes, which means that individual fins can be replaced if repairs become necessary. The lower edge of the fins is fitted with an EPDM elastic seal. The use of state-of-the-art production methods means that an extremely wide range of fin designs can be manufactured and supplied.

- Aluminium, single-skinned
- Aluminium, double-skinned
- Polycarbonate, clear
- Polycarbonate, opal

Flexible production processes enable finned ventilators to be delivered in almost any dimensions desired or required by the customer.
