Essmann has been loyal to its Bad Salzuflen site for almost 60 years now, safeguarding a great many jobs in the region. The company was founded in 1948 and initially sold chipboard, before starting to specialise in the flat roof market for the commercial construction sector in the early 1960s. The company offers a wide range of tried-and-tested products for use in new buildings and renovation projects, with solutions for lighting rooms by means of natural daylight and for aerating, ventilating and extracting smoke and heat from internal rooms (ESSMANN smoke protection systems), plus a complete portfolio of flat-roof drainage safety systems for industrial, commercial, administration and public buildings.
Over the years, Essmann has grown into the sector's market leader, simultaneously becoming one of the region's major employers. The ESSMANN GROUP includes ESSMANN GmbH, as well as STG-BEIKIRCH based in Lemgo-Lieme and MSG GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Salzuflen-Holzhausen, employing a total of 770 staff throughout the Eastern Westphalia/Lippe region of Germany. Other ESSMANN GROUP sites can be found in France, Poland, Hungary and Russia, making ESSMANN Europe's leading Group provider of system solutions concentrating on light, air and safety in industrial and commercial buildings. The company has now achieved DIN ISO 9001 certification for the third time, but its corporate philosophy also has a firm focus on environmental concerns.
Back in 1996, ESSMANN became the first company in the sector to be included on the Duisburg CCI's environmental register and to be certified in line with EMAS. The training of new young staff is also a top priority for ESSMANN. The company offers training for the following careers: Industrial Business Manager, IT Manager, Draughtsman, Warehouse Logistics Expert, Process Engineer for Plastics Technology and Electronic Technician for Industrial Engineering. Light, air and safety are the central elements of modern flat roof design. And they are what ESSMANN has been all about for decades.
