Skylight bases made from PVC, GRP or metal ensure that ESSMANN skylight domes are practically indestructible. PVC skylight bases are system components for the quick and easy installation of skylight domes, installation units and double flaps. They are available in installation heights of 15, 30 or 50 cm. Installed directly on the bearing structure, they are suitable for creating a direct, uniform connection between PVC, PEC, VAE and EVA roof sheeting and the horizontal flange section of the skylight base. Bitumen roof sheeting is raised up the side of the skylight base and connected well away from the water-bearing roof level. The optional safety frame protects the entire roof connection section against the effects of the weather. The PVC skylight bases are fitted with all connecting parts necessary for the quick and easy installation of opening units and skylight domes.
PVC skylight base 15 The design of the PVC skylight base 15 does not feature thermal bridges; in addition, the base comes complete with heat insulation all the way around. Ventilation units can be installed quickly and easily by attaching them to the permanent fastening points on the skylight base. With an extruded drip edge running all the way around, the lip of the skylight base provides a secure mounting point for all fittings. It also serves as a suitable attachment base for the ESSMANN safety frame. |

PVC skylight base 30 i and ih The ESSMANN PVC skylight base in 30 cm installation height is available in two versions: "i" (i = insulation) with the ESSMANN multi-chamber system and "ih" (ih = insulation high) with the innovative ESSMANN ih heat insulation system. As the ESSMANN skylight base 30 has virtually no joints, full-surface integration of bitumen roof sheeting is also possible. In addition, the fastening areas for integrating the skylight bases are very clearly marked. |

Metal bases (single-skinned with integrated heat insulation) are made of sheet steel and are available in installation heights of 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm. The heat insulation is 40 mm thick and fitted into the skylight base with flat flange at the factory. This metal base is colour-coated on the inside with RAL 9002. The skylight base is also fitted with an ESSMANN safety frame for practical coverage of the roofing membrane. The safety frame is fitted with hinges to enable easy installation of an ESSMANN skylight dome.
Metal bases (single-skinned with integrated bitumen-coated heat insulation) are made of sheet steel and are available in installation heights of 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm. The bitumen-coated heat insulation is 50 mm thick and fitted into the skylight base with flat flange at the factory. The bitumen coating on this high-quality, extremely flameproof insulating board gives installation specialists the option to attach the entire surface of the roof membrane using either cold or hot-applied adhesives. This metal base is colour-coated on the inside with RAL 9002. The skylight base is also fitted with an ESSMANN safety frame for practical coverage of the roofing membrane. |

Metal bases (two-skinned) are made of aluminium on the outside and steel on the inside. These metal bases are colour-coated on the inside with RAL 9002. They are thermally separated, heat insulated and available in various installation heights. They are non-flammable, comply with building materials class A1 and can be designed with either a flat flange or a profiled flange. The corrugation on the roof profiles can run either longitudinally or diagonally to the long side of the opening. |

PVC bases with a fully profiled metal profile connection make it much easier and cheaper to connect skylight domes and smoke extraction systems to profiled roof structures. A profiled metal frame is integrated into the U-PVC skylight base at the factory.
This skylight base with a fully profiled metal profile connection is suitable for roofs with a slope greater than 2°.
The flange length of the fully profiled skylight base, which is manufactured according to customer requirements, is 20 cm on the side edges to overlap the top chord, as well as on the eave and ridge sides. Before manufacturing the base, we enquire about the direction in which roof sheeting is laid, the type and direction of the profile and certain other details to ensure that everything fits properly. This is how we make sure that your skylight base is a perfect match for the profile.
The skylight bases with a metal profile connection (MPC) are installed according to DIN 18807 Part 9 and any other applicable regulations. |

PVC bases with a partially profiled metal profile connection make it much easier and cheaper to connect skylight domes and smoke extraction systems to profiled roof structures. A profiled metal frame is integrated into the U-PVC skylight base at the factory.
This skylight base with a partially profiled metal profile connection is suitable for roofs with a slope greater than 5°.
The existing roof profiles are overlapped with a cover profile at the eaves (the seams are sealed with filler provided by the customer); the lateral longitudinal edges match the profile you have chosen. The level part of the skylight base flange is placed under the roof profile on the ridge side or overlapped with a caul provided by the customer (using filler also provided by the customer) starting at the ridge.
The skylight bases with a metal profile connection (MPC) are installed according to DIN 18807 Part 9 and any other applicable regulations. |

Round skylight bases are made of glass-fibre reinforced polyester resin (GRP) and are available in heights of 15 cm, 30 cm or 50 cm. For the fixed version, the skylight dome and skylight base are screwed together. For the ventable version, a stable venting frame is used between the skylight dome and the skylight base. The venting frame is prepared for the installation of ESSMANN cylinders or ESSMANN servomotor openers. |
