ESSMANN flaps for arcade rooflight type 940/10
consist of an aluminium frame with welded corners, into which a polycarbonate panel, which has the same thickness as the rest of the arcade rooflight, is inserted. The flap size is based on the grid size of 1.06 m and has a length of 1 m or 2 m. The maximum flap width is 2.5 m, in line with applicable standards. This flap structure can be used purely to provide ventilation or to extract smoke and heat, or to do both at the same time. The arcade rooflight flaps can be opened for daily aeration and ventilation by using optional ventilation motors (standard lift of 300 mm).

At the same time, the arcade rooflight flaps can be used for smoke extraction by installing a smoke and heat extraction system (SHE). When activated, the SHE system opens the arcade rooflight flap to 145 - 160°. Double arcade rooflight flaps are also available in addition to the single-blade arcade rooflight flaps. Depending on the span width of the arcade rooflight, the flaps are either installed in the space between one base and the next, or between the frame connections. The flap size is based on the grid size of 1.06m and has a length of 1 m, 2 m or 3 m. The maximum flap width is 3 m, in line with applicable standards.

These double arcade rooflight flaps can be opened pneumatically to provide ventilation when weather conditions are good and can also be used to extract smoke by installing a smoke and heat extraction system. When activated, the SHE system opens the flaps to 90°.

ESSMANN arcade rooflights i and ih

ESSMANN arcade rooflights i and ih are two arched aluminium structures
with superb energy values and optimised protection against thermal bridges that enhance the existing range of tried and trusted classic ESSMANN arcade rooflight systems.
The arcade rooflights are designed with acrylic glazing made of polycarbonate web plates that is matched to the specific onsite requirements. The optional
arcade rooflight frame or adapter frame can be used to mount the ESSMANN arcade rooflights i and ih on any standard substructure in both new buildings and refurbishment projects.

ESSMANN arcade rooflights i and ih are fitted with acrylic base profiles all around, which ensure not only thermal separation, but also optimised load absorption and stability in conjunction with the load absorbing blocks. This not
only significantly reduces the risk of condensation in a large number of application cases; the specific load absorption also enables the arcade rooflights to comply with structural stability requirements, such as high snow and wind loads.

The ESSMANN arcade rooflight ih differs from the i version in that it is fitted with additionally heat insulated base profiles.
