SPECIFICATION TEXT ESSMANN® metal channel systems

ESSMANN® channel systems made of steel/aluminium or stainless steel function as fresh/extracted air channel systems, galvanised in a strong, well-oriented design, reinforced by corrugation on the sheet cover. Channels connected by means of a galvanised 4-hole sheet metal section with stable end pieces.

ESSMANN® channel system for fumes (de-smoking channels and fittings), incl. installation and suspension accessories for horizontal and vertical mounting.
Channel duct consists of galvanised sheet steel with wire gauze mats made of mineral wool for sheathing ventilation lines in the interests of preventing fires in fire protection class L30 (L60, L90) in accordance with DIN 4102-4 and test certificate no. 230543783-2 of the Material Testing Institute (MPA) NRW.
With a special channel connection profile as standard.

ESSMANN® de-smoking duct (de-smoking channels and fittings) without fire resistance, including installation and suspension accessories for horizontal mounting. Tested in accordance with DIN V 18232-6 and pr EN 1366-9. With general building authority test certificate according to the German national Building Regulation List A.


Channel duct consists of galvanised sheet steel 1 mm with reinforcement supports, identified as a de-smoking channel by a yellow sticker that cannot be removed. The channel duct is tested at room temperature with 1,500 Pa negative pressure or at 600°C with 500 Pa negative pressure over a period of 120 minmutes. The de-smoking ducts can be installed inside the rooms from which smoke is to be extracted. They must not pass through components that require fire endurance.
